There has been a movement towards repurposing vintage sterling silver utensils into quirky, unusual jewellery - and this is a gorgeous example of the trend. The cup part of the teaspoon is removed, and the handle is curved back onto itself, creating an interesting shank that is narrow on the one side and widens to 12.5mm wide where the end of the handle creates a 21 mm (measuring across) ring head. The ring head bears a scroll engraving that stands in relief on the smoothly polished surface. The piece weighs a solid 6,1 grams and sits snugly and comfortably on the finger. I found it in England, in the hands of a vintage jeweller. Most unusual, very quirky, and something of a collectable!
Ring head: 19mm wide x 19mm long Weight: 6,1 grams Ring size: 8 1/4 ('Q 1/2' in SA or British sizing)
Please look at the specifications carefully as the photography enlarges the jewellery!
