A COLLECTION OF 28 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAQUE OF 1998 STICKERS. HIGHLY COLLECTABLE THIS COLLECTION OF 28 STICKERS FEATURES VARIOUS WELL KNOWN NAMES OF THE SOCCER ERA. NAMES LIKE TEDY SHERINGHAM, MARK HUGHES, NEIL SULLIVAN, ROBBIE FOWLER, PAUL SCHOLES, PAIL INCE, GARETH SOUTHGATE AND DENNIS BERGKAMP.
Manchester United won a unique treble of the 1998 league title, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League. They also secured their fifth league title in seven seasons.
THESE STICKERS WERE ISSUED BY MERLIN AND CAME IN PACKETS OF 7 STICKERS. EACH YEAR IN ENGLAND A PREMIER LEAQUE SOCCER ALBUM WAS ALSO GIVEN OUT BY MERLIN AND IT WAS EVERY CHILDS OBSESSION TO FIND ALL THE STICKERS TO FILL THEIR RESPECTIVE ALBUMS.
Merlin Publishing Limited, commonly known as Merlin was a British publishing firm who released a variety of sticker collections during the late 1980s and 1990s most notably releasing football stickers in particularly for the Premier Leaque and Serie A. Merlin was bought out by Topps in 1995. They were absorbed into the company, being renamed Topps Europe Limited, although the name Merlin would continued as a brand under the Topps name initially until 2008. In 2014 the Merlin brand returned to the Premier League sticker collections until Panini was awarded the contract in 2019.
