This is an English Bracket clock with a cable driven, single fusee movement (8 Day) made by the Tame Side clock company. The clock appears to be largely original and complete. It was allowed to run for several hours and performed without issue. It was not tested for accuracy, and may require adjustments after shipping The silvered dial is nice and shows some age as per pictures , and the case has a few typical dry cracks associated with English clock cases, but overall its very nice, solid and presentable.
height 34.5 width 24.5
Unfortunately no key as I need it for other clocks
Tameside was founded by Hirst Brothers & Company and the factory in Saddleworth, Lancashire opened in 1920 and was producing clocks there until it closed in 1926 when the company went into liquidation. All Tameside movements were made there.
The founder Alfred Hirst had previously established a successful jewellery and watchmaker's business in 1884, by 1910 it also imported and sold clocks from Germany, France and the US.
