DRAMATIC VINTAGE BAGUETTE-CUT GARNET IN 9CT YELLOW & WHITE GOLD WITH DIAMOND ACCENTED FORKED DESIGN. 375 

This English vintage ring features a baguette cut garnet in a deep, rich red, claw set in 9ct white gold, with the gemstone held 6mm above the finger in an openwork double-forked setting. The richly coloured garnet measures 7mm wide x 9mm long, and the forks holding the gemstone are studded with very small round cut diamonds claw set in white gold. In a rather unusual design feature, the high ring head is also studded with diamonds - very small diamonds but all natural! These have been set into the bridge part of the ring head. The 9ct yellow gold shank is narrow, with the forks starting low on the shoulders. The piece weighs 3.37 grams, and the pedigree is indicated in the many hallmarks - 375 for 9ct gold, 'DIA' indicating genuine authenticated diamonds as well as the London assay. It is a dainty ring without being too fragile. The garnet is presented quite high - 6 mm above the finger - so it is distinctly noticeable! The colours are very strong and dramatic.
