For some unknown reason, this live-action BBC production has only been released proper in the Netherlands - hence the title that says "De Vijf".

Don't let the title fool you though - this set is in English, with Dutch subtitles that can be turned off.

A must for Famous Five fans, and indeed anyone who love adventure, the countryside, great characters and stories and lashings of ginger beer (although this beverage is outstanding in its absence in this series!). I think the series was very well made and with the attantion to the period in which the stories are set being well worth a mention (1950 - 1960's). Timeless tales for both children and adult alike. Originally broadcast during 1995 and 1996 as series 1 (discs 1 -3) and series 2 (discs 4 - 6).
