Epacris is a genus of about 35–40 species of flowering plants in the family Ericaceae, though formerly often treated in a separate family Epacridaceae. The genus is native to eastern and southeastern Australia (southeast Queensland south to Tasmania and west to southeast South Australia), New Caledonia and New Zealand. The species are known as heaths or Australian heaths. They are grown for their showy and crowded spikes of small bell-shaped or tubular flowers.

Epacris microphylla commonly known as Coral Heath grows in heathland in moist areas in eastern Australian. Epacris microphylla has two known varieties namely Epacris microphylla var. rhombifoliaEpacris microphylla var. microphylla commonly known as Coast Coral Heath which is the variety on offer here. Epacris microphylla is named for the size of its tiny leaves, 2-4mm, which are heart-shaped and pointed. They are held erect against the thin, wiry stem and sharply angular branches. The shrub grows to about 1m high, chiefly in damp rocky heath areas, but also open forests on sandy soils. The white tubular flowers of Epacris microphylla are arranged very neatly along the upper sections of the branches, often hiding the leaves. Where the shrubs grow densely they create a snowy effect. Epacris microphylla flowers June - November.
