Epazote is an aromatic herb with a very powerful fragrance, to me it smells like a combination of citrus and tar, or even Creosote, it smells divine.  Epazote is a leafy annual but can be grown as a semi-perennial herb that can reach about 70cm.

Epazote can be used in cooking and is also highly medicinal, with lots of healing properties.

Epazote has been used to treat intestinal parasites, help with treatment in respiratory diseases, such as bronchitis, asthma and TB, it can assist with relief of inflammations on joints, it can aid with digestion issues like bloating, gas and constipation, can assist with slightly lowering heart rate and in turn lowering your blood-pressure.

Epazote extract and essential oils shows antimicrobial actions which is capable of clearing various types of bacteria, viruses and fungi.

You can you Epazote by infusing leaves with boiling water to make tea.
