Eric Forlee Original (Signed and dated 1982)
On offer this masterfully painted Oil on Canvas laid on Board by artist Eric Forlee who was born in China and then moved to Africa. Depicting this magical landscape, so realistic one can almost feel and touch it. His paintings are prized by animal lovers and art collectors as his work "captures the essence of Africa" and has a special three-dimensional quality that brings the subjects to life. Forlee was born in 1949 in China and at the age of 14 was listed as an enemy of the Chinese Communist Government, simply because his parents lived in South Africa. At age 19 he was imprisoned in a concentration camp, survived 5 years and eventually managed to escape, avoiding being killed while doing so. In a few years he managed to save enough money to join his parents in South Africa. He immediately started painting the African landscapes and in particular concentrated on African Wildlife and he has never departed from the subject. The intensity and quality of his art has earned him the status of Master International Artist.
