The ESP8266-12E is an enhanced version of the ESP8266-12, featuring improved peripheral circuitry which increases impedance matching for a better signal output. The ESP8266 -12E is fully compatible with previous firmware. The module adds an additional six IO ports at the base of the ESP-12E for SPI functionality.

Notes
- This module requires a 3.3V power supply at greater than 300mA for VCC. The Arduino and/or CP2102 3.3V pins have insufficient current capability for the module. Suggest you use an external 3.3V LDO regulator such as an AMS1117-3.3
- The GPIO pins only operate on 3.3V logic levels. You must use a 5V to 3.3V logic level converter module or a 3.3V powered microcontroller.
- The unit will be seriously damaged if it is connected directly to a 5V power supply and/or 5V logic level microcontroller pins.
