The ESP8266-12E is a tiny but powerful system on a chip and designed for the Internet of Things (IoT). It has an integrated Wi-Fi networking solution, allowing it to either host the application on the onboard web server or to offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application server.

The ESP8266-12E has powerful on-board processing and storage capabilities that allows it to be used for sensors and other applications with minimal development and fast runtime. The new version exposes more pins and requires minimal external circuitry and comes in a very small footprint package.  Great for use stand alone due to the powerful processor or with Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects, PIC or other CPU's.
