Up for auction is an etching done by Isonto Ephraim Ziqubu.
Ephraim Ziqubu was born in 1948 in Rorkes Drift (The world famous Zulu war site and Mission station), Natal where he received his training. In 1969 he was employed as a potter. He joined Katlehong Art Centre in Germiston in 1979 and worked with ceramics, sculpture and graphics. He has participated in many of the center's group exhibitions.
Exhibitions:
1970: DAM (Sculpture and Ceramics from Rorke's Drift).
1973: Sao Paulo, Brazil (Tapestry designed by Ziqubu, woven by Esther Nxumalo and Philda Majozi).
1985: Africana Museum in Progress, Johannesburg (Tributaries).
1988: Unisa (Clay+).
Collections:
DAM; Rorke's Drift; UNISA.
This etching must be of one of his designs that he used on his pots.
