Eucalyptus deglupta Seeds

Rainbow Eucalyptus, Mindanao Gum, Rainbow Gum

Eucalyptus deglupta commonly known as Rainbow Eucalyptus, Mindanao Gum or Rainbow Gum is a beautiful multi-coloured tree native from the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is also found in New Britain, New Guinea, Sulawesi and Seram but it is grown around the world to make paper pulp. It is also found in French Polynesia. The tree is also grown for its decorative trunk. Indeed, it permanently loses its smooth bark in long, thin strips and gradually changes colour as it ages: first a pale green before becoming darker blue, purple, orange and brown hence the common name of the tree: Rainbow Eucalyptus. It can measure up to seventy-five feet high and has white flowers. It supports many types of soils, but prefers to live in the humid tropics. It can withstand freezing temperatures for short periods.
