Approximately 20 of these helmets were brought into South Africa in the early 1980's. The SADF were looking to replace the old 'staaldak' with a more modern helmet. These were brought in as trials helmets but rejected. Chinstrap is quite flimsy in my opinion, so that may be one reason why.

United Nations U.S style. No markings whatsoever. A mystery as to where they originated.
