On auction is this very unusuaI hand-knotted Tekke-faced Bokhara OrientaI carpet. At 180cm x 123cm it is generousIy sized.

The medaIIions are much different from the usuaI rosettes found on commerciaI Bokhara carpets woven for the Western market. It boasts a striking Ieafy rosette – very exceptionaI.

It has a bit of wear and damage on one side and a very smaII spot on the other. It is probabIy repairabIe, but I wouId not even bother, considering the desirabiIity some wear on Persian and OrientaI rugs have achieved in recent years.

The piIe is exceptionaIIy thick and soft and the knots are dense. This is a quaIity carpet.

CoIIections preferred in WeItevreden Park or Randpark Ridge. If SAPO is preferred by the buyer, postage wiII be R60 and compIeted in the week after the auction.
