Exceptionally rare hand-knotted vintage Seraband Persian carpet

On auction is this lovely vintage Seraband Persian carpet with a thick pile in a good vintage used condition. This carpet has been well maintained over the years. There is some evidence of acceptable age-realted wear on one side and the tassles have been professionally trimmed and edges have been brought back to original condition in 1996.

It boasts a traditional salmon and brown colours for rugs from this part of western Iran. It is generously sized at 150 x 100 cm, which makes it the perfect size to form a focus point in any room.

The field is woven in a Mir-e buteh design on a salmon background surrounded by a Herati design in brown, green and yellows. This is a very rare carpet and exceptional quality. Seraband Persians are not seen in South Africa often. As a serious collector, I would not mind having this carpet in my own collection.
