                                The spine and first page of this book have been repaired with cellutape.

                        This book was written by Jeannie.M.Boogie the widow of one of Rhodesia's pioneers and a member of the first legislative council.She erected a memorial clock tower in Gwelo in memory of her late husband.

                   There was also a memorial panel inserted in the tower commemorating the women,children,cattle and donkeys of the pioneers.

                           Legend has it that she buried his bones in the tower.

                                                    Second edition published in 1950. The first edition was published in 1938 with 1,250 copies. There are a number of illustrations--photo's and sketches.
