A unique antique sterling silver hallmarked table snuff box of religious/Catholic interest and legal interest, with beautiful story attached: this box was made in 1846 with English hallmarks, and is typical of late Georgian form with gold gilt interior. The box has fine engraved detail on the top that reads
"Presented to John Yates... by a few friends as a mark of esteem for his gratuitous legal services on behalf of the Catholic poor, Dec 17th, 1852."
