A stunning antique sterling silver teapot of signature early Georgian design, this piece is hallmarked for London England with date letter for 1794, in excellent overall condition considering its age with ivory handle and carved "pineapple" finial - a symbol of hospitality in the eighteenth century.
Ivory or wooden handles were common during this period as it creates a separation from the body of the teapot as not to be hot to the touch when pouring the tea. The maker's mark is "CF" for Crispin Fuller, a highly regarded 18th century London silversmith whom learned his skills from an early age, becoming a silversmith apprentice at 14.
See photos for design and details.
Dimensions: the piece measures 26 cm x 10 cm x 16 cm. (Code: S24O023) Secure shipping options available.
