THE BASES ARE LINED WITH A BLACK VELD TO PROTECT THE BOOKCASE OR CABINET THAT THE BOOKENDS ARE USED ON. THESE BOOKENDS ARE QUITE UNUSUAL AND VERY TASTEFULLY MADE. THEY WOULD BE IDEAL IN A GENTLEMAN'S STUDY OR IN AN OFFICE LIBRARY.
