EXQUISITE HAND PAINTED FABERGE STYLE PORCELAIN EGG. HINGED AND CLASPED IN A NON MAGNETIC GOLD COLOURED METAL. THE PINK ROSES AND FOLIAGE ARE HAND PAINTED.
 
A beautiful porcelain egg trinket box, on three gold gilded legs, decorated with delicately hand painted roses, pansies and other flowers in rich tones of pink, purple, blue, yellow and green. No marks but this piece is undoubtedly Limoges France in origin as a quick search online should verify.

FABERGE EGGS:
One-hundred thirty-six years ago, Tsar Alexander III of Russia commissioned Peter Carl Fabergé to create a jeweled egg as an Easter gift for his wife, Empress Maria Feodorovna. It was meant to be a one-time order, but the result was so pleasing that the tsar immediately placed an order for the following year.
A Fabergé egg is a jewelled egg and as many as 69 were created, of which 57 survive today. Virtually all were manufactured under the supervision of Peter Carl Fabergé between 1885 and 1917.
The original cost was 12,800 rubles. It is now thought to be worth approximately $15 million dollars.
