Exquisite Studio Pottery Vase.

Vintage studio pottery or artisan-crafted ceramic ware, likely made of stoneware.

Featuring a speckled glaze, and a hand-drawn or sgraffito design of what appears to be a bird or abstract motif. Blue Grey-toned speckled glaze on the upper half and a lighter, possibly oatmeal or off-white, speckled glaze on the lower half. Hand-drawn or incised black/dark grey abstract/zoomorphic decoration on the lower portion. It has an organic, rustic, or possibly Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, like some Japanese-influenced pottery.

The signature on the bottom of the pottery piece is an artist's mark or monogram, hand-carved into the clay before firing. Based on the abstract design, it is likely the unique symbol chosen by a studio potter to identify their work. While the mark is clearly visible, the specific artist is difficult to identify without access to a comprehensive, global database of every studio potter's mark. The symbol does resemble a stylized letter "L" or an abstract representation of the bird motif seen on the main body of the pottery. I think it may be Andrew Walford.

Visible Flaws: None.
