Here is your chance to acquire a very rare and collectible Waltham watch from the late 1930's early 1940's era.
This watch has a 10 kt rolled gold scolloped style case with flowing wavy lugs measuring 30 mm including crown and 40 mm lug to lug, raised curvex crystal and st/steel back. Has a high grade caliber 6/0 - C 17 jewel Waltham made movement that looks good, runs good and keeps good time. I have no previous service history. Dial and hands in very good original condition. A new leather strap has been fitted. This exquisite watch is in all round fabulous condition for its 80 years and probably impossible to find another one like this, never mind in this fine condition. Very much a mans watch in its time but by today's watch trends very suitable for ladies also.
The American Waltham Watch Company of Massachusettes ceased making clocks and watches in 1957 and became The Waltham Precision Instrument Company. So this is very much a quality treasure in this day and age from a great watchmaking company. Anything else that says its a Waltham after that time was made elsewhere but not by the original Waltham company. American Horology owes much to the brilliant visionaries of Waltham. President Abraham Lincoln carried a Waltham pocket watch which was made in 1863 and was sterling silver. Vintage pic of the Waltham factory on the banks of the Charles River in Massachusettes. NB This for serious bidders only, suspect bidders will be deleted and I reserve the right to withdraw this offer. Its your duty to read the description and look at images before bidding.
