From private collector featured is an exquisite and extremely rare antique “Gone with the Wind table lamp”. This lighting piece is intricately designed and highly ornate, made from cast gilt metal. It has a gorgeous gilt cast iron tripod base with griffin, cartouche, and claw foot motif. The Corinthian column is decorated with acanthus scrolling that leads to the top part of the lamp. The embossed gilt spelter/enamel font features four profiles of cherubs or baby faces (the Gone with the wind motif) as well as vines and pineapples. The finial is adorned with a petal design. This lamp is not being sold with a shade. This lamp was purchased in the USA and has the original wiring and it is not safe to use in South Africa given the difference in electric current and the age of the fittings. It should be completely rewired by a professional electrician before use.
