FABULOUS LARGE VINTAGE NATURAL EMERALD-CUT GREEN AMETHYST SOLITAIRE STERLING SILVER RING

 SPLENDID LARGE VINTAGE SOLITAIRE GREEN AMETHYST STERLING SILVER RING

This gorgeous and very solid piece of vintage jewellery is crafted in sterling silver, featuring a gorgeous emerald-cut green amethyst of the palest green, claw set in sterling silver, holding it a magnificent 8mm above the finger. The medium sterling silver shank is narrower under the finger for comfort, broadening on the shoulders to support the 14mm long x 12mm wide ring head. The shank forks into 3 on the shoulders, with a thinner band on each side, with triangular openwork on either side of the shank. The central band on both shoulders has 5 x small round cut cubic zirconia set in a single row, adding a frisson of sparkle. The piece weighs a hefty 5 grams and bears the 925 hallmark indicating sterling silver - the piece is vintage, but not antique - there are some buff marks on the stone to speak of its age. Not sure where it heralds from originally but I acquired it from a favourite vintage jeweller in London, England. Its rather a splendid piece!
