This is an illustrated compendium (Peacock Press/Bantam Books, New York) of faerie mythology, legends and folklore. The title Faeries, is spelled in the archaic fashion and does not refer to fairies only, but encompasses a wide range of mythological creatures.
The authors cover folklore from all over, but most of the contents are from France, England, Scotland and Ireland.
