Carlotta Edwards 1894-1977 was the daughter of a French painter
Ferdinand Pourrier. She was known for her paintings of ballet
scenes and exhibited at both the Royal Society of Portrait Painters
and the Paris Salon. In the 1950's framed copies of Carlotta Edward's
prints were very popular. Her prints are often described as retro kistch
(in the nicest possible way). They have a chocolate box appeal and are
of great sentimental value.
Another Carlotta Edward's print recently sold on BOB for R1200++
Got like a varnish with brush strokes which is presumably to make
it look like an original. Interesting!. Measures with frame height
45cm and the length 58cm. Within the frame and borders is 25cm
by 37.5cm
Please note the light scratch on the varnish type of finish.
The frame is in worn condition.
