GREAT PORCELAIN VASE DESIGNED BY FATHI MAHMOUD FOR FM IN THE 80S. MADE OF WHITE PORCELAIN WITH HAND-PAINTED HIEROGLYPHIC MOTIFS IN THE LIMOGES TECHNIQUE. THE VASE IS IN VERY GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION WITHOUT CHIPS OR CRACKS. NOTE IT IS AN OPEN MOUTH VASE AND ALTHOUGH IT MIGHT LOOK LIKE IS MUST HAVE A LID IT WAS NOT MADE WITH ONE.
 
Produced from high-quality porcelain, this vase is adorned with intricate golden illustrations against a dark blue to black background, making it a lovely addition to your collection of Egyptian art. A prominent figure is depicted in traditional attire and jewelry sitting on a throne. Hieroglyphic symbols border the top and bottom of the vasess exterior contributing to its ancient Egyptian theme.

Since its foundation 1942 by acclaimed artist Fathy Mahmoud, the Egyptian German Porcelain Company has developed into lifestyle staple. Once a humble earthenware factory in Cairo, the porcelain powerhouse has evolved into one of the most significant porcelain manufacturers in the world. Fathy Mahmoud, known for his expertise as well as his multiple lauded works of art around Egypt, took it upon himself to provide art for millions, by way of porcelain. He expanded to the city of Alexandria and founded the plant. After his passing in 1982, it was up to his successor to carry the torch from there.
