The MYRA system from FBT is designed as a comprehensive solution for mid to large-sized touring applications and high-end fixed installations. It consists of the MYRA 214L, a full-range variable curvature 3-way line array module, and the MYRA 218S, a direct radiating dual 18-inch subwoofer with custom-designed B&C drivers.
The MYRA system sets a new standard for SPL-to-size ratio, directivity control, coherence, and usability. Developed over a rigorous three-year R&D program, it addresses the needs of rental companies, front-of-house engineers, and tour sound professionals.
Key features of the MYRA 214L include two neodymium coaxial compression drivers (4-inch VC mid-frequency and 2.5-inch VC high-frequency) housed in a 1.4-inch throat, designed in collaboration with B&C to cover the 400Hz to 20kHz range. It incorporates a proprietary wide bandwidth waveguide for low distortion and controlled 90° horizontal directivity. The 214L extends its frequency response down to 40Hz, reducing the need for additional subwoofers in most applications. Its low-frequency section features neodymium 14-inch drivers with 3-inch long excursion voice coils for precise control and projection.
The cabinet construction exemplifies FBT's "Made in Italy" craftsmanship, using premium Baltic birch and weather-resistant Polyurea coating for durability on the road. The system is easy to rig with a four-point integrated system, allowing up to 24 cabinets to be flown quickly with adjustable splay angles (0.25° to 8°).
The MYRA 214L is bi-amped via a NEUTRIK NLT4MP connector, with separate channels for LF and MID/HF, and includes internal passive crossover. Factory-optimized DSP presets ensure linearization and protection for various system configurations.
