This is a beautifully hand painted Fedoskino lacquer box created in 1999 and signed by the artist Dotti C A. Fedoskino is one of the oldest and most highly regarded Russian miniature-painting schools, known for its mother of pearl underlayers, rich depth of colour and detailed oil work.
The scene is finely executed with excellent detail, soft shading, and delicate highlights. The painting sits over mother of pearl, giving it a luminous glow. The sides feature a patterned geometric design and the interior is finished in deep red lacquer. The lid closes cleanly and the box displays extremely well.

The lower edge reads 99 (Fedoskino 1999) and Dotti C A, confirming the date and artist.
Condition
In lovely condition with only light surface signs of age. Interior lacquer clean and intact. Hinge and fit good.
