Exquisite CMC model of the Ferrari Tipo 500 F2 car which won 14 out of 19 races and both the 1952 and 1953 Championships with Alberto Ascari.
F1 used the F2 category temporarily when Alfa Romeo pulled out of F1 at the end of 1951. Ferrari was the only serious entrant to have an F2 car specifically designed to the new regulations. It was very successful and established Ferrari as a serious racecar manufacturer/entrant which is true right up to today.
The Tipo 500 was a beautiful car and shone in Ferrari/Italian red livery.
For 1953 Ferrari increased the engine to 2500cc and the car was still fast enough to win two further races 1953-54.
This CMC model is wonderfully detailed (right up there with Exoto) with engine, chassis and cockpit manifestations. Perfect for all Ferrari/F1/ history collectors.
In mint condition and supplied in its original box also mint.
Imported and from my private collection.
