Carbide clamping surfaces provide excellent holding force with low wear, and an additional locking mechanism helps prevent the fitted tool from loosening unintentionally during operation. The impact-resistant design makes the KC 13-1/2-MMFP suitable not only for standard drilling and screwdriving but also for demanding percussion-drilling applications with appropriate masonry drills. A freely rotating protective ring helps prevent accidental marking of the workpiece when operating close to finished surfaces, while the durable metal gripping surface provides excellent handling during frequent bit changes.

The KC 13-1/2-MMFP combines Festool's quick-change FastFix interface with the versatility of a conventional three-jaw keyless chuck. This allows standard round-shank and suitable shaped-shank drill bits from 1.5 to 13 mm to be used while retaining the convenience of tool-free attachment changes at the machine.
