Design and ergonomics
The Z33 WP is 92.0mm x 59.6mm in size, and only 20.6 mm thick – compact enough to slip into a pocket. The durable body is designed to withstand above average wear and tear, including being underwater as much as 3m deep. A large and bright 2.7" LCD screen gives a clear view when taking pictures and also when sorting through them after shooting. The handy Micro Thumbnail View, which displays up to 100 small images on the back of the screen at the same time, helps even further with sorting. The camera weighs only 110.0g.
Picture quality and lens
The camera’s 10.0 megapixel resolution allows for pictures to be blown up to larger than A2 size, which means there is ample room for picture cropping. The 3x zoom lens has the 35mm focal length equivalence of 35.0- 105.0mm. An additional digital zoom of approximately 5.7x is available, and an ISO sensitivity of up to 1600 produces superior pictures in low light conditions.
Key features
The camera’s Face Detection technology can instantly recognise up to six faces in the frame and optimises focus and exposure in order to deliver optimal portrait pictures. With its range of versatile scene modes, including ‘Sunset’, ‘Flower’, ‘Baby’ and ‘Sport’, the Z33 WP is ready to shoot everything and anything. Simply selecting the most suitable scene mode lets the camera do the rest, by automatically choosing the appropriate shutter speed, exposure and white balance to ensure that the user gets great images with the least amount of effort. The Intelligent Flash function captures both the subject and the background with natural brightness, setting the ideal balance of flash output and sensitivity. Automatic image stabilisation to minimise blurring, and built in red-eye reduction further enhance the quality of pictures. Additional exciting editing features include diagonal cropping, and Auction Mode, which stitches multiple photos into a single image for easy uploading to an auction site.
