The rose mallow has been used medicinally in the form of tea to treat digestive and urinary tract inflammations. 
Hibiscus moscheutos is a statuesque perennial with large leaves and many sturdy vertical stems.  In summer, plants are crowned by striking saucer shaped flowers.  The solitary blooms are located in the upper leaf axils
This species thrives in sunny moist or wet sites where it is sought after by many pollinators.

It's  a bold and beautiful  plant. Its large and showy pink flowers are a head-turner.
