The fabric is a high quality fleece so it is thicker than standard fleece. The zipper is attached to blanket so it can't be lost and does not get in the way of keeping you warm. Bonus - if your blanket gets dirty, just machine wash on a 30 degree C wash cycle and hang to dry. Please do not tumble dry.
