Rare!!!!! 1961 Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) Black 'scratch' Large Display Plate
It is beautifully hand painted with cherry blossoms and bears the De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) mark, factory batch number 1257), artists signature (HuD) and year code (CE or F = 1960 or 1961). It has holes and a wite attached for hanging.
Black Delft is a style of Delftware that was produced between 1978 and 2009 by De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft). It is inspired by the famed (and very rare) antique black Delftware that was created from the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century in Delft. Black Delftware in turn was an imitation of the famed Chinese 'famille noir' porcelain and lacquered ware of the times
It is 29 cm wide and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. No cracks or chips. Age-related crazing on reverse
Note: I have cleaned off the bit of yellow sticker left on back visible in photo above
