Large Forever Flashlight - 240mm
We all know the feeling, don't we? When you need a torch, you need it NOW. And more like than not, when you do find your trusty ol' torch, the batteries are flat! This torch does not need batteries or bulbs. It uses a LED (light emitting diode) which is not as bright as a halogen or incandescent bulb ... but then again, that is a small trade off compared to its advantages. (Sorry, you cannot have both lol)
Instead of using batteries to power the light, it uses a magnet which, when you shake it, runs through a coil. Electricity is generated and stored in a capacitor. This model is also transparent, so you can see the action.
The initial charge takes about 90 shakes to fully charge the capacitor. As the light gets dimmer, you just shake again to brighten it up.
Caution: the flashlight generates a strong magnetic field which should be kept away from magnetic storage media, medical devices, computers etc. Please consult the pamphlet.
