"GOOD FORS" FROM THE BOER WAR.

These are FORGED "Good Fors" ALMOST UNC.
Forged¨Good Fors¨issued by the British, in their Concentration Camps for the Boers - issued for the POW Camps´Canteen (for the camps in South Africa), Two Shillings Sterling, they were issued in about 1900, these are forged copies of the "Good Fors" issued at the "Green Point Track" (today being the site of the Cape Town Race Course) - POW Camp - these are AU.
These forgeries have no watermark - where the original bore the "Croxley" Watermark.
The original POW "Good Fors" were issued by POW Camp Managers - in Temporary Prisoner of War internment Camps in South Africa, prior to them being relocated to permanent camps abroad. The "Good Fors" were exclusively for the purchase of items in the Camps´ Canteen. The Green Point Track Camp held about 5000 Boer Prisoners. The Manager of the Green Point Track Camp was C.W. Barnes.
