FOSSIL SHARK TOOTH PENDANT
Here we have a nice fossil Snaggletooth (Hemipristis Serra)
The tooth, rich steel-grey colour, measures 36.5 mm long.
Tip not chipped.
It is not a replica.
The tooth is wrapped in stainless steel wire, which cannot stain or go black and is stronger than sliver wire.
The unusual teeth of Hemipristis serra are highly prized by collectors because they are often found in sediments in Southern Florida that yield extremely colourful fossil shark teeth. Their outstandingly large serrations make it a favourite and unique collectible fossil. Little else is known about the general appearance of H. serra, as there are no known fossils preserving its cartilaginous skeleton at present.
The tooth is strung on a 50 cm leather cord that has a lobster clasp to fasten. The beads are metal and ceramic. Leather cord is 2 mm.
The enamel of the tooth is in great condition as well as the very sharp serrations and tip. This is a really nice shark tooth pendant!
This is an authentic fossil shark tooth and has not been restored or altered in any way.
Will ensure that the item is sent in protective packaging. This is exactly the tooth you would receive, as in all our sales. Authentication description card included.
