Shilin Cutters knives are handmade by a family member of the Chiu family. Their legacy dates back to 19th-century China, where the craft was passed down to a select few. Some makers later migrated to Taiwan, continuing to produce these renowned knives. Over time, many ceased production, leaving only two families in Taipei to continue the tradition. Today, the house of Chiu has closed its doors, with its future uncertain.
