Nice mid-century painting of a 3 huddled nude female figures with a perched bird next to them, in the distinctive style of listed artist Calvin Waller Burnett (1921-2007). The artist attended Massachusets College of Art and earned his BFA from Boston College. His work is in many collections including the Smithsonian, the Boston Museum of Art and the African American History Museum. The painting is composed in an expressionist, modernist style with bold, gestural, sketchy strokes. It is signed by the artist "BURNETT". It is large measuring 89cm x 58cm, and is in good condition - has a little frame scratch in the top right hand corner, but this is not on the painting. Attractive investment buy for your home.
