This is a collection of coins both ZAR and British used during the 2nd Boer War.The main reason for the war was the discovery of gold in the Tvl.Both the Boere and the British wanted control of the resource. This led to tension and then to war. The British eventually committed 500 000 troops to the war. This included volunteers from NZ,Canada and Aus.The Boers had a force of 54 000 but only 40 000 were deployed at any 1 time.

The coins I have placed in this collection were used during a horrific period in the history of SA. I have used some photographs of the period depicting Queen Elizabeth, Lord Kitchener and P. Kruger.  The other photos are of both Boer and British soldiers and weapons of war.I hope that the buyer of this collection will recognize the historic value of thereof.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I COULD NOT PLACE PICTURES OF ALL THE COINS AS THE SYSTEM ALLOWS ONLY 15 PICTURES TO BE ADDED TO THE LISTING.
