There are 12 plates in this series representative of the 12 months of the year. Each plate portrays exquisite flowers of lore and legend and the exotic birds associated with them. Naoko Nobata is the artist and she has exhibited throughout Japan. Each plate is rimmed in 24 carat gold.

The back of each plate is also decorated in matching foliage and has the artist's "chop" or signature.

This plate is one of my favourites and it's in excellent condition and has a diameter of 26 cm.
