Frans Claerhout Original Signed Sketch In Art Book `CHRISTUS EN DIE ANDER PERSOON`.

Frans Claerhout was born in Pittem, West Flanders in 1919, and moved to South Africa as a missionary for the Catholic Church in 1946, at the age of 27.  He was a self-taught painter who created landscapes and figures in oil paint.  This book is in hardcover format and was published by Promedia, Pretoria in 1986.  It contains full-colour plates of Claerhout's religious series and includes an original signed sketch by the artist.  Note : The upper spine has been reinforced with tape (please see pic).  The book is intact and in overall good vintage condition.
