Inspiration behind the art:

I live in Barrydale in the Klein Karoo. We have the most beautiful sweeping vistas here, especially if you are on your way to Swellendam, Montagu or Riversdale. I'm always drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes around me and find my mind wandering every time we take a drive to one of the neighbouring towns.

I wanted to capture the essence of the agricultural earth in this piece, the vibrant ever-changing colours of the fields abundant with crops of canola to onions, from citrus to butternut. The majestic mountains are also a site to behold, especially on these crisp, winter's mornings.

This painting would compliment and bring life into any living area or office space, a must-have for landscape art appreciators, especially with a South African Karoo edge.
