Since I moved to the klein Karoo, I've been blown away by the beauty and creative spirit of the Khoisan people — many of whom I am honoured to work with and to call my colleagues — and the brazen friendly birds we get here. Every morning we get woken up by these cheeky birds singing at us on the window ledge for their breakfast. The gold disc represents the blazing Karoo heat.
