From side to side is 125mm in diameter.  I showed the item to a well known auctioneer and in his many years of auctioning twice a week, he has never seen something like this ancient lockable bottle holder.  That is why I call it "one of a kind".  I also went through pages looking on the internet and can not find something similar. 

This old wooden, patterned, lockable Wine/Whiskey bottle holder is one of a kind.  The Bottle holder stands 445 mm high.  The bottom stand is 165mm in diameter. The outside of the bottle holder is 125 mm in diameter
