Antique Brass Beautiful Naiad Lady Tray French hall tray, large vide poche, trinket dish, faerie and frogs on leaf, gilt metal fairy playing mandolin to frogs
This is such a fun, highly decorative piece, found many years ago in Bourgogne, France! A faerie / fairy lounging on a leaf, playing a stringed instrument to some frogs sitting on the leaf also and seemingly enjoying the tune :-). Love the two frogs hugging! This gorgeous hall tray or large 'vide poche", which translates to empty pocket, will hold your keys, small change, glasses, phone etc. and will certainly be a fun talking point for arriving guests. It measures approx. 25cm long and 19.5cm wide. Condition is great, there are a few spots of verdigris on the gilt metal but no damage.
