FRENCH MODEL 1886 'LEBEL' BAYONET - THIS IS A CRUCIFORM - 4 EDGED - BLADE THAT IS NOTHING MORE THAN A 'PIG STICKER'. IT REPLACED THE FRENCH MODEL 1874 GRAS BAYONET. THIS WAS MANUFACTURED TO FIT THE FRENCH MODEL 1886 LEBEL INFANTRY AND SAW ACTION IN WW2 IN VARIOUS CONFIGURATIONS INCLUDING ARSENAL ' SHORTENED' AND MODIFIED VERSIONS. THE BAYONET IS 25INCHES IN OVERALL LENGTH WITH A HOOKED BLADE BREAKER, QUILLON AND SILVER-ALLOY (WHITE METAL) GRIP/HILT. THESE BAYONETS WERE INTENDED TO BE REPLACED BY THE FRENCH MODEL 1892 MANNLICHER BERTHIER BAYONET AND INFANTRY RIFLE.
