The FUJIFILM FinePix HS30EXR Digital Camera differs from its brothers and sisters - namely the HS25 - because of its lithium-ion battery and RAW/RAW+JPEG file capture. The benefits here are a long-lasting, rechargeable power source and RAW files for the ultimate in image quality and post-production flexibility. When you consider all the other great features of the HS30EXR, it's not only a budget-friendly option, it's a versatile one.
Of the many other noteworthy aspects of this camera, you'll find the 24-720mm Fujinon 30x optical zoom lens at the top of the list. This lens sports a maximum aperture of f/2.8 and an expansive focal length range that covers everything from 1cm Super Macro shots to extremely long telephoto ones. The impressive 30x optical zoom is enhanced with a 60x Intelligent Digital Zoom option, which offers an (35mm) equivalent of a 1440mm focal length. This Fujinon lens also boasts strong construction with an 11 group / 15 element configuration, Super EBC to reduce ghosting and the like, and more.
The 24mm lens is supported by the CMOS Shift image stabilization and a high ISO range that reaches up to 12800. Helping to produce steady, clean shots is also Fuji's Advanced Anti Blur features, which layers 4 consecutive shots into a single frame. Another not-to-be-overlooked feature is the electronic viewfinder. When you raise your eye to the viewfinder the display automatically switches from the LCD to the EVF, thanks to the "Eye Sensor".
The HS30EXR's LCD monitor is a tilting 3.0" LCD screen with 460,000 dots of resolution. This screen tilts both high and low for expanded flexibility when shooting and when reviewing shots. It also provides other benefits such as vector graphics with flash technology, an updated font display (over past models), high contrast, and then some. To the left of the monitor you'll find the direct shooting command buttons for quickly adjusting the most-used camera settings.
At the heart of the camera you'll find the 16Mp BSI EXR CMOS image sensor and its partner, the EXR processor. Together these two indispensible tools give the camera its umph - allowing for those high-quality RAW images and 1920 x 1080 HD video capture, not to mention fast start-ups and focusing, high-speed continuous shooting, and more. The core of the camera also empowers EXR AUTO mode, which take the guesswork out of shooting, automatically recognizing and optimizing numerous settings for 103 different shooting patterns.
Of course, the HS30EXR gives you the ability to choose your own settings thanks to the manual exposure settings dial (M/A/S/P). This lets you creativity soar, giving you the options you need to capture the shot as you see it. Additional creative modes include the trio of bracketing options, Pro Focus mode and Pro Low-Light mode, Motion Panorama 360, and more!
When you're ready to share what you've shot, the HS30EXR gives you the tools to do just that, with ease. "Built-in social networking" lets you tag photos and videos in-camera, so when you get to your computer your files will automatically upload. FUJIFILM's MyFinePix Studio also gives you ways to stay connected, with automatic search and upload and favorites rank. Photobook Assist, on the other hand, lets you create a photo album right in your camera, allowing you to share your images on the fly. The camera also boasts playback functions, 3D viewing, and 3D printing.
