FULLER, J.F.C. - The Last of the Gentlemen's Wars: A subalterns journal of the war in S.A.1899-1902*

Pictire shows Major-General Fuller - the book looks terrible outside and is a candidate for rebinding - the inside however still nice and very readable - it is illustrated with maps and early photos - comprehensive index behind - a very scarce item on the Boer War - published by Faber & Faber in 1937 - interesing to read an account from an Englihman who was actually there - found the following about the author. ***Major-General John Frederick Charles Fuller, CB, CBE, DSO was a British Army officer (1899–1933), military historian and strategist, notable as an early theorist of modern armoured warfare, including categorising principles of warfare.
Fuller was also an early disciple of English poet and magician Aleister Crowley and was very familiar with his, and other forms of, magick and mysticism.  (???)
